WHAT ARE WE? A mix of all three of the above! We happily strive to be as close to whole food plant based everyday. It is the goal, as this is what makes us both feel our absolute best!!! Yet, there are days when we eat forms of sugar, oils and processed foods. We try to keep this minimal and are aware of the quality of processing and ingredients if we do, but it is still consumed at times. We don't let it throw us off track or allow it to fill us with guilt. Our bodies alert us now when we have gotten off course and we are happy to jump back on that "feel good" train of eating whole food plant-based.
FALAN, has been plant-based since the end of 2016 where health, animals, and the environment play a role in what goes into her body and how she lives. Is it perfect all the time, no, but it is important to her to always try while not adding stress to her life. Her family; her husband of 15 years and three kids 14, 12, and 10 years old have been predominately plant-based for over seven years now. As they get older it is getting more interesting, in both good and challenging ways. The focus on educating them on the why we should choose to try to be predominately plant-based is now the priority. Especially as we do not live in a community where being plant-based is the norm or as accessible outside the home. Yet, we forge on! Our oldest, is predominately plant-based at home but as sports and social events have taken over outside of our home he makes his own choices to a certain extent (which has been a learning curve for him and us). Our daughter is fully plant-based and our youngest is predominately plant-based. We navigate things day by day right now, but one thing that will not change is the importance of getting in greens, whole plant foods at home and trying to find the best options available. We are not perfect.
AVERY, has been plant-based since June 2018 and is more conscious each day of the products she purchases and how they are made.
